It is Midnight. The last day of August. My month of blogging every day is over. In the beginning of the month, I told you that I wanted to do Nablopomo (National Blog Posting Month) as a writing exercise and a personal challenge. I also wanted a shiny Nablopomo badge for my sidebar. Well, it was a long haul, but I kept going until the end.
One of the things I learned is that you publish a lot of bad stuff when you publish a post every day. It’s miserable, and I whined about it. (I take solace in whining.) But I learned something else. There is an inescapable honesty in these bad posts. They are naked. They are what they are. I had to be a bit courageous to publish these bad posts. I had to just let it all hang out.
Unfortunately, I was not successful in my Nablopomo. Even though I published a post for every day in August, I was late publishing some of these posts. I missed my deadlines. So, I will not get my shiny Nablopomo badge.
But it's OK. I will keep going. Just not every day. Because publishing a post every day is really miserable.
I don't like to post every day either. Every other day or third day is best for me. Glad you got through the month and can relax now.
I'm the same, every 3 days is about right for me. Well done on completing it though it's sad news you won't get your badge.
I think when anything becomes a chore, it loses some of the fun.
I think it's a bit harsh you didn't get a badge just because you were a bit late with some. But well done for doing it. And relax....
I was pulling for you so that you could cross this off your list of things done. I can't post everyday. Some days, there's just nothing I want to say that can be shared with others.
BTW - I enjoyed all your posts.
Well, I enjoyed reading your posts. And yes they were naked. And there were some gems in there. And some not so shiny. Like life. Kinda pulls stuff out of you to blog all the time, doesn't it?
I think Roony should have eaten the gummy worm.
Ah, it's hard to be perfect all the time! :o)
I missed a few days last month too. When I fail, I usually adulterate the "I did it!" badge they provide (by photoshopping a 'NT on it after the did, and then post THAT!
As for me, I'm off like a shot and raring to go another month. Look, I've even got tired of waiting for the new badge, so made my own.
Congrats for even trying such a thing. I'd be in a padded cell if I made such an attempt.
