I just saw my Grandma last month, she is 86, so gentle and sweet. I enjoyed spending time with her and taking care of her. When I am around her I can be a little girl again and I know she will love me for all that I am because she does not see me and my faults everyday, so she remembers me as the sweet girl who always did as she was told. (That has changed,of course.) Funny how we can fall back into family triggered patterns when spending time with our grandparents or parents. I always felt more free to be me when I was staying at my grandmother's house.

I'm so sorry for your loss. She looks like a treasure. You should definitely write more about her.

Mine's would-be 100th birthday is coming up this spring. She was a huge influence on me and I've not found a way to write about her though I feel I need to. I need your inspiration! :-)

I only knew one of my grandparents and she died when I was 12. I lost my parents when I was relatively young and as I've aged I have sorely missed having an older woman in my life.
