Whose side am I on?

I thought I was against fortifying bread with folic acid. Well, I guess I can live with it.

I’m definitely against that big company adding palm oil to chocolate blocks (and charging the same for 50 grams less).

But I’m confused about why we need that expensive postal referendum. Should a smack as part of good parental correction be a criminal offence in New Zealand?

Um, yes?

Edited to add. Of course, fair trade organic chocolate is what we prefer at Wellington Road. We take our chocolate very seriously.

I even got sent a ballot form in France for the referendum! I would have sent it back but I was away when it arrived and missed the deadline. For NZers this issue (as you are aware no doubt) has been hotly debated and was passed through as a law without (it seems) much input from the NZ public. I think its great that we can have a say, finally, on such a heated topic. I am with the majority of NZers on this one.

I was sad that the NZ government spent $8 million on a useless and badly worded (ie, confusing) referendum. Not very many people sent their referendums in. I voted Yes. I wasn't in the majority, but it looks like PM John Key might just leave things as they are (retain the status quo, abuse of children is a criminal offense).
